To better safeguard your rights, we have updated the Veepoo Health Personal Information Protection and Privacy Policy. This update primarily focuses on:

Disclosing the system permissions required in advance to ensure the implementation of certain independent functions and the integrated third-party SDKs. For details, please refer to Appendix 2: Third-Party SDK Usage Instructions.

Overview

Welcome to Veepoo Health! Veepoo Health is a free application developed by Shenzhen Veepoo Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Veepoo Health," "we," "our services," or "our products").

Our Privacy Policy elaborates on how we collect and use your personal information when you use our products and services, as well as the measures we take to provide you with information control and protect information security.

The following is an overview of the information contained in this Privacy Policy, designed to help you grasp the key points and understand how Veepoo Health collects, uses, and stores your personal information and what rights you have. Reading this overview does not substitute for reading the full policy!​ Please read and understand all contents of this Personal Information Protection and Privacy Policycarefully before using our services. We hope you can make appropriate choices based on your understanding.

How Do We Collect and Use Your Information?

We use your information to help you improve your health and manage your smart wearable devices. We will de-identify or anonymize all personal information you provide:

  • Email or Mobile Number:​ Used for account registration and login; not required when using a local account (no account) login.

  • Gender, Height, Weight, Date of Birth:​ Used to calculate calories burned and distance traveled during daily activities.

  • Contact List, Call Logs:​ Used to provide communication notification services as requested.

  • Approximate Location Information:​ Required by the Android system to scan for nearby Bluetooth devices via GPS.

  • Precise Location Information:​ Used to record exercise routes or provide real-time weather services.

  • Photo Album:​ Used to set watch faces, etc.

  • Mobile App Notification Information:​ Used to provide communication notification services as requested.

  • IP Address, Browser Type, App Crash Information:​ Used to provide technical support and resolve product and service issues.

With Whom Do We Share Your Data?

We will not actively share or transfer your personal information to third parties outside Veepoo Health (except as otherwise required by laws and regulations or when necessary to protect user rights).

When you require us to share or transfer your personal information to third parties outside Veepoo Health, we will directly obtain your consent or confirm that the third party has obtained your explicit consent for the above actions. Simultaneously, we will conduct risk assessments on third parties receiving the information, ensuring they can provide the same or equivalent level of personal information protection as described in this Privacy Policy before sharing or transferring information in accordance with legal provisions.

Where Do We Process Your Data?

We will store personal information collected within mainland China within the territory in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements. If the storage location of your personal information is transferred from within mainland China to outside, we will strictly implement it in accordance with legal and regulatory provisions.

How Long Do We Retain Your Information?

The duration for which we retain your information depends on the type of information and will not exceed the period stipulated by law.

What Rights Do You Have?

According to laws and regulations, you have the right to access, export, edit, correct, transmit, restrict the processing of, and delete your personal information. You also have the right to object to our use of your information and to exercise legally prescribed legitimate rights and interests regarding the information of deceased relatives.

Furthermore, if you are a minor under the age of 14, please do not use our products and services. If you are 14 years or older but under 18, you need to obtain the explicit consent of your guardian before using our products and services. 1. Definitions and Scope of Application

  • Personal Information​ refers to various information recorded electronically or by other means that can identify a specific natural person alone or in combination with other information, or reflect the activities of a specific natural person.

  • Personal Sensitive Information​ refers to personal information that, once leaked, illegally provided, or abused, may endanger personal and property safety, easily lead to damage to personal reputation, physical and mental health, or discriminatory treatment, etc. This includes biometric characteristics, religious beliefs, specific identity, medical health, financial accounts, location tracks, genetic data, and personal information of minors under the age of fourteen.

  • De-identification​ refers to the technical processing of personal information (using techniques such as pseudonymization, encryption, and hash functions to replace identifiers of personal information) making it impossible to identify or associate with the personal information subject without the use of additional information.

  • Anonymization​ refers to the technical processing of personal information so that the personal information subject cannot be identified or associated, and the processed information cannot be restored. Information obtained after anonymization does not constitute personal information.

  • Non-Personal Information​ refers to other information that cannot identify a specific natural person or reflect the activities of a specific natural person.

  • Service Log Information​ includes IP address, browser type, telecommunications operator, language used, date and time of access.

2. What Information Do We Collect or Process?

Depending on the product used, method of use or acquisition, and the system permissions you authorize us to access, we will collect the following information:

Information We Receive From Third Parties

We do not actively obtain your personal information from third parties. If business development necessitates obtaining your personal information from third parties not specified below, we will verify the legality of the source according to law, or clearly indicate to you the source, type, and scope of use of your personal information before obtaining it. If Veepoo Health's business activities require processing of your personal information beyond the scope of consent you originally granted to the third party, we will obtain your explicit consent before processing such personal information. Furthermore, we will strictly comply with relevant laws and regulations and require the third party to ensure the legality of the information it provides.

3. What System Permissions Do We Need Your Authorization For?

To provide you with certain features and services, we may request your authorization to access relevant system permissions in advance. You can view specific personal information access permissions and their status in the Veepoo Health App under "Me" -> "Permission Management," and choose to enable or disable permissions in your mobile device's system settings.

Enabling these permissions means you authorize us to collect and process this personal information when using the related features and services. We will only use your system permissions when you use the related features. Disabling these permissions means you withdraw these authorizations. We will no longer continue to collect and use this personal information of yours, but we will also be unable to provide you with the features and services corresponding to these permissions. The decision to disable these permissions will not affect the previous processing of personal information based on your authorization.

To understand the specific system permissions you need to authorize, the purpose of the request, the type of information processed, whether it can be disabled, and the steps to disable, please see Appendix 1: Permission Request Instructions.

When using mobile devices with the Android system, the display and disabling methods for permissions may vary. If you cannot find the corresponding function, you can consult the device and system provider for assistance.

4. When Do We Collect and Process This Information?

We only collect and process the relevant information mentioned in Section 2. What Information Do We Collect or Process?when you use related features or services. For example:

  • When creating a Veepoo Health account, you provide certain basic personal information. Your Veepoo Health account is a core component of the products and services, allowing you to access and control your personal data.

  • When you use our application, some personal data is registered in your Veepoo Health account. This is the case when you set alarms, share information, measure steps, fill in fields in the app, install and sync products and apps, and other optional features. All personal data we collect when you use the application will be stored in your Veepoo Health account.

  • When you use our products and services, we collect your personal data to help you monitor your health. Each product requires the collection and processing of specific personal data. In our Help Center, you can consult the user guide for each product, which contains all information specific to the personal data processed by each product, especially how it is configured.

  • When you contact our customer support team, our team may temporarily access some personal data from your Veepoo Health account until the issue is resolved.

5. How Do We Use Your Personal Data?

The data collected through our products and services will be processed for the following specific purposes. Data may be used for different purposes simultaneously.

  • Providing Products and Services:​ Personal data processed by Veepoo Health is stored in the Veepoo Health account and accessible within the application. Your health data is anonymized, meaning it cannot identify individuals or be linked to an account, and is used as raw data by the Veepoo Health Research Institute team for research and analysis in the health field to advance scientific research. Using the data we collect, we can provide you with services and fulfill our contractual obligations under the Terms of Service with you. Personal data may appear as raw data (steps, weight, etc.) or as results of specific data processing (heart rate, respiration, movements reflecting sleep patterns, etc.). We also use your data to make inferences and show you more relevant content. Here are some examples: Information such as your height, weight, gender, and age allows us to improve the accuracy of your daily exercise and activity statistics, such as the number of calories burned and walking distance; Based on your sleep data, we can infer your sleep patterns and provide you with customized insights to help you improve sleep; We can suggest exercise and activity goals based on goals you previously set and your historical exercise or activity data.

  • Account:​ By creating a Veepoo Health account (including online accounts—registered via email or mobile number—and local accounts), you can better use our products and services. Through this account, you can also manage your content and preferences, as well as measurement data collected by products.

  • Communicating with You:​ When you contact our customer support department to resolve a reported issue, our team members may need to process your personal data to assist you. They will not be able to view your identified personal health data, such as your weight or blood pressure, without your consent.

  • Improving Services:​ We may use your anonymized personal data to improve our products and services, customer support services, and develop new services. For example, we may need to process this data for troubleshooting and error prevention: performing data analysis and testing, conducting research and surveys, developing new features and services.

  • Enhancing Security and Protective Measures:​ We use the information we collect to promote the security of services, users, and other parties. For example, we can use this information to authenticate users, prevent fraud and abuse, respond to legal requests or claims, conduct audits, and enforce our terms and policies.

These purposes are based on your consent to this Privacy Policy as the legal basis, which we obtain when you create your account.

6. How Do Our Products Work and What Technologies Do They Use?

  • How Do Our Products Work?​ Our products work via wireless connections (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G/4G), supporting product configuration and the transmission and synchronization of data collected by your Veepoo Health account. Some features are only available after connecting the product to the application. Personal data collected by the product is stored when you sync the product with the mobile app. When you are logged into your Veepoo Health online account and data sync is enabled, personal data is transmitted to your Veepoo Health online account on the server. This synchronization on our servers located within mainland China is necessary to: Update product software to fix bugs, add new features, or apply changes required by legal and regulatory developments in the data field; Data backup: If the Android or Apple device with the app installed is lost or stolen, you can recover all data; Perform measurements without needing to be near the Android or Apple device with the app installed; Share your data across multiple devices: You can access the latest measurement results through your Veepoo Health personal account and any device with the app installed.

  • What Third-Party SDKs Do We Use?​ To ensure the implementation of certain independent functions, enabling you to use and enjoy more services and features, we embed third-party SDKs in the application. We will prudently evaluate the purposes of using these SDKs. To learn more about the purposes, methods, and scope of personal information processing by these SDKs, please see Appendix 2: Third-Party SDK Usage Instructions.

  • How Do We Use Cookies and Web Beacons?​ We cooperate with partners who provide us with analytics and advertising services. This includes helping us understand how users interact with the service, placing ads on our behalf across the internet, and measuring the performance of these ads. These companies may use cookies, web beacons, and other similar technologies to operate and improve our website. We also use cookies to personalize and display ads.

7. Do We Share Your Personal Data?

To ensure you receive a high-quality experience, we may disclose certain data under very strictly defined circumstances:

  • When You Consent or Instruct Us to Share:​ You can instruct us to disclose your information to others. For example, you can instruct us to share your information in other ways. When you allow third-party applications to access your account, their use of your information will be subject to their privacy policies and terms.

  • Mandatory Disclosure:​ We may retain or disclose information about you to comply with laws, regulations, legal processes, or government requirements. In the following circumstances, we may process your relevant personal information without seeking your authorization and consent: Related to the fulfillment of legal obligations by the personal information controller; Directly related to national security and national defense security; Directly related to public safety, public health, and significant public interests; Directly related to criminal investigation, prosecution, trial, and execution of judgments; To protect the life, property, and other significant legitimate rights and interests of the personal information subject or other individuals, but where it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual; Personal information disclosed by the personal information subject on their own initiative; Personal information collected from legally publicly disclosed information, such as legal news reports, government information disclosure channels, etc. Please note: It is our policy to notify you of legal processes seeking access to your information, such as search warrants, court orders, or subpoenas. If the court designates a confidentiality period, we will provide delayed notification after the confidentiality period expires.

  • International Transfer of Personal Information:​ We will store personal information collected within mainland China within the territory in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements. We will only provide transfer services in accordance with legal provisions when you actively and explicitly request us to transfer or transmit your data outside mainland China and it complies with relevant laws and regulations.

  • Aggregated Non-Personal Information:​ We may share aggregated or non-personal information that has been anonymized and cannot be used to identify individuals. We may publicly disclose such information to third parties, for example, in public reports on exercise and activities, or disclose such information to partners with whom we have agreements.

  • Other Circumstances:​ If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, we will continue to take measures to protect the confidentiality of personal information and notify affected users before transferring any personal information to the new entity. Potential acquirers are also subject to the same obligations to protect your personal information.

8. How Do We Protect Your Personal Data?

We make every effort to ensure the security of your personal data.

  • What Measures Do We Take?​ Protecting your privacy and security is fundamental to how we build and deliver our products and services. We use various security protection measures within a reasonable level of security to ensure information security. For example, we use encryption technologies (e.g., SSL), de-identification, and anonymization to protect your personal information. Only employees with legitimate reasons to access this information can access our databases.

  • How Do We Ensure Your Data Quality?​ We recommend that you regularly log into your Veepoo Health account and confirm that your personal data is accurate and up-to-date. If you have doubts about the accuracy of the data, please inform us, and we will take measures to correct or delete inaccurate data.

  • Security Incident Response:​ In the event of a security incident such as a personal information breach, we will initiate emergency plans and remedial measures to prevent the security incident from expanding and fulfill relevant reporting and notification obligations in accordance with the law. We will formulate cybersecurity incident emergency plans, promptly address security risks such as system vulnerabilities, computer viruses, network attacks, and network intrusions. In the event of a cybersecurity incident, we will immediately initiate the emergency plan, take corresponding remedial measures, and report to the relevant authorities as required. In the unfortunate event of a personal information security incident, we will, in accordance with legal requirements, promptly notify you of the basic situation of the security incident, its potential impact, the measures we have taken or will take, suggestions for risks you can prevent and mitigate on your own, and remedies for you through methods such as in-app notifications, email, SMS, or phone calls. We will promptly inform you of the relevant situation of the incident through the above methods. If it is difficult to notify individually, we will adopt reasonable and effective methods to issue an announcement. Simultaneously, we will also proactively report the handling of personal information security incidents to regulatory authorities as required.

9. What Rights Do You Have?

We provide you with account settings and tools to access and control your personal data.

  • Access and Export Data:​ By logging into your account, you can access much of your personal information, including your daily exercise and activity statistics. Using your account settings, you can also download information in common file formats, including data on activity, body, and sleep.

  • Edit and Delete Data:​ By logging into your account and using your account settings, you can change and delete your personal information. For example, you can edit or delete profile data you provided.

  • Object to Data Use and Change Authorization Scope:​ We provide you with account settings and tools to control our use of data. For example, through your privacy settings, you can limit the visibility of your information to other users of the service; using your notification settings, you can limit the notifications you receive from us; under your application settings, you can revoke access permissions for third-party applications you previously linked to your Veepoo Health account; use the Veepoo Health application to unbind devices from your account at any time. You can also refuse our collection and processing of corresponding personal information by disabling the corresponding system permissions following the steps in Appendix 1: Permission Request Instructions.

  • Deactivate Account:​ If you choose to delete your account, most of your information will be deleted immediately, but a small amount of information may take up to six months to be permanently deleted. For specific times, see Section 10. How Long Do We Retain Your Personal Data?. Additionally, we may retain information for legal reasons or to prevent harm. Please note that the account deactivation operation cannot be undone. If you have deactivated your Veepoo Health account and wish to use our products and services again, simply create a new account. However, personal information prior to account deactivation cannot be recovered.

10. How Long Do We Retain Your Personal Information?

The duration for which we retain your information depends on the type of information and will not exceed the period stipulated by law.

If you have deactivated your Veepoo Health account and wish to use our products and services again, simply create a new account.

11. How Do We Protect and Process the Personal Information of Deceased Users?

Starting from November 1, 2021, we have strengthened the protection of personal information of deceased users in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Personal Information Protection Law of the People's Republic of China. After the death of a Veepoo Health user (limited to natural persons), their close relatives may contact us via the methods in Section 14. Contact Usto exercise rights such as access, copying, correction, and deletion regarding the relevant personal information of the deceased user for their own legitimate and proper interests, unless otherwise arranged by the deceased user during their lifetime.

12. How Do We Ensure Respect for Minors' Privacy?

Veepoo Health's products and services are provided to the general public. We recognize the importance of taking additional measures to protect the privacy of minors.

Minors under the age of 18 may not create an account unless their parents have consented in accordance with applicable laws. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a minor without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information as soon as possible. If parents believe their child has submitted personal information to us and wish to have it deleted, they can contact us.

13. How Do We Update This Policy?

We may revise the content of this Personal Information Protection and Privacy Policyfrom time to time. If the changes would cause substantial changes to your rights under this Personal Information Protection and Privacy Policy, we will notify you before the changes take effect through methods such as system push notifications, email, SMS, or page announcements.

If you do not agree to the changes, you should stop using Veepoo Health products and services, or request the deactivation of your account through the contact methods published in this Personal Information Protection and Privacy Policy. If you continue to use our products or services, it means you agree to be bound by the revised Personal Information Protection and Privacy Policy.

Substantial changes referred to in this Personal Information Protection and Privacy Policyinclude but are not limited to:

  • Significant changes in our service model. Such as the purpose of processing personal information, the type of personal information processed, the way personal information is used, etc.;

  • Changes in the main objects with whom personal information is shared, transferred, or publicly disclosed;

  • Significant changes in your rights regarding personal information processing and how they are exercised;

  • Changes in data security capabilities and information security risks;

  • Other changes that may significantly impact your personal information rights and interests;
